REDUCE THE RISK OF CANCER !!!



Many parts of your body can be affected by cancer. Habits that you choose now, including the type of snacks you eat can prevent you from the most common cancer. Cancer is a disease in which cells grow in ways that are abnormal.

Do We Have Different Type of Cancer?
Yes, there are many types of cancers including:
  • Skin Cancer
  • Colon Cancer
  • Lung Cancer and other


Skin Cancer
Skin cancer can be caused by harmful rays of the sun and by sun lamps and tanning beds

Who Is At Risk?
You are at risk if only you spend more time unprotected on the sun especially men and women who have a bleach their skin. You can later in life be affected with skin cancer if as a child you have been exposed to serious sunburns and having fair skin as well.

How Can You Reduce Your Risk?
  • You can reduce your risk of skin cancer by using, sunscreen with an SPF (Sun Protective Factor) of 15 or higher and stay covered when you are out in the sun.
  • Limit the time you spend in the sun between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. The sun’s harmful rays are strongest during these hours
  • Do not use a sunlamp or a tanning bed. These devices have the same harmful rays as the sun


Lung Cancer
Most people die from lung cancer each year than from any other form of cancer. The leading cause of lung cancer is cigarette smoking.

Who Is At Risk?
Cigar and pipe smokers are also at risk. People who do not smoke are at risk if they are exposed to secondhand smoke. Again another substance that can lead to lung cancer is Radon. Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that comes from rocks and clay soils. It leaks into buildings through cracks in basement floors

Colon Cancer
The colon is the large intestine. Undigested food substances move through the colon as waste. A bowel movement removes the waste from the colon. Eating foods that contain fiber and drinking a lot of water helps you have a daily bowel movement colon cancer is more common among people over 50 years of age. It is the most common cause of cancer-related death.

How Can You Reduce Your Risk?
  • Eat plenty of fiber. You can get these fibers from fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products
  • Choose low-fat foods and snacks and eat lean meat and poultry as well.
  • Try to walk 25minutes a day
  • Eat Garlic and Onions
  • Drink Green Tea
